The tour begins at the North Exit of JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, near the area map and vending machines. Your tour operator guide will greet you here and provide a brief overview of the day before heading into Arashiyama together.
Enjoy a walk along Arashiyama’s main street, known for local shops and traditional scenery. Continue to the Kimono Forest, where colorful textile designs are displayed on illuminated pillars, blending modern art with traditional culture.
We had a fantastic time exploring Arashiyama, including the Bamboo Grove, Tenryu-ji Temple, and the Monkey Park. Our guide, Tom, was excellent - his English was flawless and he came across as genuinely well travelled. He was friendly and polite throughout and shared lots of interesting facts along the way, but what we appreciated most was his honesty which made the whole experience feel more relaxed and authentic.

Greenery and culture
We are truly thankful for our tour with Toru, it truly was amazing, from the very beginning.
Open and positive,- great storyteller and made us laugh a lot. We learned many interesting things about Japan, Kyoto and Japanese culture. Toru was willing to answer all of our questions with a smile- he really made our day. I highly recommend this tour if you are willing to learn and participate in the group.
