奈良県にある飛鳥・藤原の遺跡は、日本という国家の起源へとあなたを誘う歴史の宝庫です。これらの遺跡は6世紀から8世紀にかけて日本国家の基盤が築かれた飛鳥京および藤原京の所在地を示しています。

世界遺産の平城宮の一つ前の宮殿跡です。一部は発掘調査中で、世界遺産登録を目指しているそうです。北側に駐車場があり、南側にも臨時駐車場がありました。西側には資料館があるそうです。菜の花やコスモスなどの花を見に来る人も多いです。

橿原神宮前でレンタサイクルを借りて回りました。思ったより広く、皇居と行政庁が一体となった史跡で規模は古代から近代の中で最大みたい。平城宮が広いと思いましたが、発掘したらこっちが大きいようです。持統天皇が藤原一族と権力を使って作った都だから、家来のはずの藤原の名前を付けたらしい。奈良時代の前に藤原が権力を握っいたことが分かります。ここを16年間使って放棄して平城宮に遷した無駄の理由など考えます。飛鳥宮から近江大津宮から飛鳥宮に帰ったり、間に朝倉宮から朝鮮半島に戦争仕掛け大敗して壬申の乱が起きたり、この時代は忙しく謎が多い。有名な天の香具山に登ったり、あすか温泉でゆったりしたり、自転車だと時間はかかりますが駐車場を探す手間が不要でオススメです。藤原宮の展示場が農協支所の2階に有って、ジオラマや遺跡の解説DVDを観たり、学芸員に窓から奈良三山を含む遺跡の解説を聞いたり。掘る度、日本史が変わって行くのが分かりました。疲れましたが天気も良く、良い１日でした。

駐車場無料 11月中旬に訪れました。 200万本のコスモスが見頃で綺麗でした。 のんびり散歩に丁度良かったです。 発掘現場も外側から見ることができました。

12月27日に行きましたが、さすがに花など咲いているわけもなく、あまり見るところはなかったです。平城京跡のほうがだいぶ良かったような気がしました。

無料の駐車場が各所にあり、ゆっくりと見学できました。８月１０日の訪問なので、蓮畑はほとんど花が終わっていたのは仕方ないが、イヌたちとの散歩がてらの見学は余裕もありました。北西側に資料かんもあり説明を聞けるのもありがたい。
