2026.02.22 最近では「ミステリと言う勿れ」「犬神家の一族」でのロケ地としても使用された旧野崎家住宅は、江戸時代後期から製塩業と新田開発で財を成した創業者・野﨑武左衛門が建築した瀬戸内を代表する邸宅で雄大な規模を有する豪商の住宅として国の重要文化財に指定されており、貴重な所蔵品の鑑賞や製塩業の歴史が学べます。お雛様展が催されていて順路通りに飛び石を進むと、表書院前の園路にある飛び石の1つが非常に大きく塩田王の富を感じました。また書院内の欄間は波のようなデザインで塩から海を連想させるなど、細かい所にもこだわりを感じます。各所にも来客をもてなす為の庭園と季節の花々が咲き、建物内から庭園を鑑賞する事は出来ませんが広い敷地内を歩いて見学出来るのも楽しいものです。現在の建物や展示の全容が見られるのは 2026年3月末までとなっており、それ以降で 13年〜14年かけて順次、耐震工事が行われます。休館はしないものの一部見学不可の場所が出てくると思われます。

児島のジーンズストリートでブラブラ・ショッピングを楽しみつつ1周歩き終わるころに、到着して気になってた「旧野崎家住宅」を観覧してみようと立ち寄ってみました👀 敷地面積は約3,000坪、建物の延床面積は約1,000坪ある、本瓦葺（ほんかわらぶき）の母屋郡と表書院、6棟の土蔵のほか、茶室3棟からなる国の重要文化財建造物からなるとても広〜い旧野﨑家住宅です🏚️ 表玄関に久能整（ととのう）の等身大パネルが置かれた内玄関があり、「ミステリと言う勿れ」ファンの嫁ちゃんには、映画版の撮影地のひとつということを現地で知り、思いもかけずサプライズの聖地巡礼となりました✨ 1つ1つ・1部屋1部屋をみるごとに映画の1シーンが思い出されて「あった！あった〜」と共有・共感の連続でした。映画やアニメの聖地巡礼？をする人の楽しい気持ちがちょっとわかりました🥰 とても立派な建物で、歴史も詰まっているため見ごたえがあります。ぜひ、実際に訪れてみてください

倉敷市児島の観光で、歴史ある「旧野﨑家住宅」を訪れました。見どころは、なんといってもそのスケールの大きさ。庭園、表書院、土蔵群、展示館など、多くの建物が敷地内に点在しており、当時の繁栄を肌で感じることが出来ます。展示館には、塩田の歴史や製塩に使われた道具、塩づくりの工程などが模型やパネルで紹介されており、倉敷の地域産業を学ぶにはうってつけ。また文化財も展示されており、歴史的な生活文化にも触れて勉強になりました。一方で、やや残念だったのは、建物の大半が内部見学できず、外から覗き見るのみの形式であること。広大な敷地ながら、その分、立ち入り可能な場所が限られている印象もありました。なお、映画『ミステリと言う勿れ』のロケ地とのことで、ファンの方にも嬉しいスポットかもしれません。無料休憩所なども用意されており、畳の和室に腰を下ろし、日常を忘れさせてくれるような癒しの時間でした。児島観光にぴったりなスポット。のんびりとした空気の中で、歴史と美に触れる体験をぜひ味わってみてください。

明治以前から瀬戸内の町や集落で根付いてきた産業の繁栄を垣間見る事が出来る施設です。その土地の成り立ちや置かれていた状況をうまく利用し一財を成した経過を見ることができ、現在に置ける街の発展にも寄与している一族の屋敷です。文化財としての価値と歴史的価値を双方併せ持った建物なので一見の価値はあると思います。近隣に無料の駐車場があるので車で訪れることをお薦めします。近くに児島ジーンズストリートもありデニム好きには好立地ですよ。
