CoCoLo Yuzawa Gangidori is a distinctive shopping and dining precinct located inside JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station in Niigata Prefecture. Opened in December 2009, Gangidori recreates the townscape from the early Showa Period with houses lining covered alleys known as "gangi", traditional snow protection structures that were characteristic of the region's architecture. The nostalgic design pays homage to Niigata's snow country heritage while serving as a modern commercial hub for travelers and tourists.

The precinct showcases Niigata Prefecture's reputation as one of Japan's premier rice and sake producing regions. The Gangidori Chuo-ichiba (central market) offers a comprehensive selection of local specialties including sweets, sake, rice, and traditional crafts. Among the signature products are sasadango, sweet dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, and items made with Koshihikari rice from Minamiuonuma, renowned throughout Japan for its quality. The market also features namban-ebi (Alaskan pink shrimp) products, local character goods, and decorative sake containers that serve as popular souvenirs.

Visitors can experience regional cuisine at Tabearuki-yokocho, a street lined with restaurants specializing in Niigata dishes. Notable offerings include Niigata tare-katsu-don (breaded pork cutlet on rice), grilled Wagyu beef, and Uonuma ramen. The Yukinto onigiri shop serves the famous "bakudan onigiri," a gigantic rice ball made with a full cup of Koshihikari rice, available in 18 varieties. For larger appetites, the daibaku onigiri contains four cups of rice with five filling choices.

The Ponshukan Sake Museum stands as a major attraction within the complex. The kikizake corner features approximately 90 brands of sake from Niigata breweries available for tasting using a coin-operated system. For 500 yen, visitors receive one sake cup and five coins to sample different varieties from automated dispensing machines. The museum also operates Sake-buro Yunosawa, an onsen bath infused with sake. Wine and plum wine options are available alongside traditional sake selections.

The facility provides practical services including a tax-free shopping counter, tourist information center, visitor assistance in multiple languages, baggage check, and car rental services. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the complex, and parking is complimentary for the first two hours. The precinct operates 365 days a year with general business hours from 9:00 to 19:00, though individual stores may vary.

CoCoLo Yuzawa Gangidori is located directly inside JR Echigo-Yuzawa Station, which is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from Tokyo Station via the Joetsu Shinkansen.
