What other travelers are saying about Enoshima Aquarium
An interesting place to visit, located right next to the beach at Enoshima. The aquarium isn't huge like some of the other aquariums in Japan, but it's got some really fascinating deep-sea creatures. The penguin feeding is fun to watch, and the dolphin show is pretty cool too. They have this whole section dedicated to jellyfish research, which is surprisingly interesting. All in all, it's a fun and educational place to visit. It costs 2800 yen to get in, but I spent a good two and a half hours there, so it was worth it!
The aquarium opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 5:00 PM on most days, with last admission at 4:00 PM. During peak seasons including summer, Golden Week, and year-end holidays, closing time extends to 8:00 PM.
A typical visit takes 2 to 3 hours to see the main exhibits and attend shows. Visitors who want to see everything thoroughly may need 3 to 4 hours. The aquarium schedules 3 to 4 dolphin and sea lion shows daily.
The aquarium is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible with elevators to all floors. Stroller rental is available at the entrance. The facility includes nursing rooms, diaper changing stations, and interactive touch pools appropriate for young children.
The aquarium provides English signage at major exhibits and English audio guides are available for rent. Show announcements are primarily in Japanese, though key information may be translated. Staff at the information desk can assist English-speaking visitors with basic inquiries.
This aquarium closes at 5:00 PM. We entered around 2:45 PM, and honestly, two hours was not enough to cover all the areas properly. There are dolphin shows and several other shows throughout the day. The last dolphin show is at 4:00 PM and is quite short, about 10 minutes.
I would recommend visiting in the morning, around 10:00 AM, to fully enjoy the different shows, as we missed some due to time constraints. You can also see sharks and many other marine animals.
Ticket prices are ¥2,800 for adults and ¥900 for kids (5 years old). Most payment methods commonly used in Japan are accepted, including cards and PayPay. The washrooms are very clean, and there is a feeding/nursing room available, which is convenient for families.
Awesome sea creatures so relaxing when seeing them! If you visit on weekdays no waitings. No crowds. Easy parking access interesting lessons about sea creatures specially jellyfish 🪼. Enjoying!
A great place for a 1 day trip from Tokyo with your family. You would love their jellyfish display, so colorful. It's also next to the beach, so You can also have a nice stroll after that.
Just chanced upon it when i was in the area. Worth it to stop by and visit esp for families with kids. Nice view of the sunset!
My husband tried extracying akoya pearl from its shell and turn into a necklace. I would say it was a lovely experience.
