Fudoin Temple, located in Hiroshima, is a hidden gem with a rich history and serene beauty. This historic temple, which survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945, serves as a symbol of resilience and peace. It dates back to the Muromachi period, providing visitors with a profound connection to Japan's cultural and spiritual past.

What makes Fudoin Temple particularly special is its architectural significance. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The temple's main hall is constructed using a traditional technique called "Ichijiki kirizuma-zukuri," which is notable for its intricate wooden joinery and absence of nails. This construction not only exemplifies the craftsmanship of the era but also highlights the temple's ability to withstand the test of time and calamity.

Surrounded by well-maintained gardens that change with the seasons, Fudoin Temple offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The peaceful atmosphere is enhanced by the sound of chanting and the occasional ring of the temple bell, inviting reflection and meditation.

Very pretty location. The end of the cherry blossoms were still nice. The location was very nicely arranged. The return taxi was easily obtained even in the rain frin the busy road a few blocks away.
