What other travelers are saying about Fukuoka Art Museum
Visited in mid-November, only the permanent exhibition. The museum was a wonderful discovery and is really cheap. I think it will appeal especially to those who appreciate contemporary art. In any case, it's very pleasant to visit after strolling through the park, and by filling out a form you can even receive a free postcard!
The museum's collection includes a wide range of artworks, from traditional Japanese and Asian art to modern and contemporary pieces. It also features works by renowned artists such as Salvador Dalí and Marc Chagall.
Yes, the museum has a café where visitors can enjoy light meals, snacks, and beverages while overlooking the beautiful surroundings of Ohori Park.
The museum is located in Ohori Park, Fukuoka City. It is accessible by subway, with the nearest station being Ohori Koen Station on the Kuko Line. Buses and taxis are also convenient options for reaching the museum.
One of the best value museums in Japan. Amazingly clean, quiet with beautiful and meaningful installations of contemporary artists and even world- famous ones. The QR code scanning system with transcripts is very convenient and price for the visit is budget-friendly. I loved it.
JPY 200 for entrance that we paid for there, but was very impressed with all the collections. I think we spent 3 hours here but could easily spend more. Lovely view of Ohori park. They have a gallery where you can scan QR codes to read or listen to a discussion about the piece, so bring earphones.
Well worth 2000 yen entry fee. The Egyptian exhibit was a little crowded, however, the other exhibits have plenty of room and lots of interesting things to see.
Located right next to the park, Fukuoka Art Museum has a great atmosphere and lots of interesting artworks to see. The highlight is Yayoi Kusama’s pumpkin — super cute and iconic!
