What other travelers are saying about Muikamachi Hakkaisan Ski Resort
Unbelievable amount of powder! Had the time of my life here. A locals Mt. With really good vibes. Everyone was really kind. Definitely a nostalgic ski resort. No frills, just great snow!
The season runs from mid-December through late March. January and February offer the heaviest snowfall and best powder conditions. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends and Japanese national holidays.
Yes. The resort has gentle slopes and a dedicated learning area for beginners, though it caters primarily to intermediate skiers. Ski and snowboard lessons are available, and equipment rental is offered at the base.
Snowshoeing routes and winter hiking trails are available for non-skiers. These activities showcase the mountain scenery and provide access to areas around Mount Hakkai. The nearby Hakkaisan Brewery also attracts visitors interested in regional sake production.
The resort caters particularly well to intermediate skiers, with the majority of terrain designed for this level. Beginners have dedicated areas and easier slopes, while advanced riders will find suitable challenging terrain, though options are more limited compared to intermediate courses.
Fantastic powder and tree skiing. You don’t come here for the on-mountain dining facilities which are limited. Relatively undiscovered gem. Liked it enough to do two trips (originally only planned one) and will return.
Not crowded ski resort with maybe not wide variety of slopes, but it was enough for me. Great deal with JR package: shinkansen + local train round trip with a full day ski pass, 50% discount for rentals only for 12000 ¥.
