What other travelers are saying about Rokuha Park, Kusatsu
Nice park for young kids to play, for adults to walk or to jog. There are 2 swimming pools (in and outdoor) and a possibility to rent a BBQ set (book in advance) but only opened in summer time... Zannen / unfortunately...
Early April for cherry blossoms when 300 trees bloom. Spring and autumn offer comfortable temperatures for walking. Summer provides beach access but can be hot. Winter is quieter with clear lake views.
Vending machines only. No restaurants or cafes inside the park. Picnics are permitted. Convenience stores and restaurants are within a 10-minute walk from the entrance toward Kusatsu Station.
Swimming is permitted at the beach area during summer (July-August) when conditions are safe. No equipment rentals available. Motorized watercraft are not permitted.
Barbecues and camping are not permitted. Picnics on the lawns are allowed, but open fires and overnight stays are prohibited.
This large park is located in Kusatsu City. The pool seems to be popular in the summer.
There are also various other facilities, such as a cherry blossom viewing area and a day campsite, so it looks like there are things to enjoy depending on the season.
The cherry blossoms are almost over, but some of the late-blooming double cherry blossoms still have flowers, and their pink blossoms stood out against the blue sky.
A trip to the park during the season of fresh greenery, weather permitting, is recommended.
Note, however, that the sports field in the southwest of the park is separated from the other areas (you cannot get there by walking through the park).
We enjoyed a barbecue in the forest at the day camp. There are toilets and a kitchen, so as long as you listen to the instructions at check-in and follow the rules, you can have a comfortable stay.
However, although you can borrow carts for free to carry your luggage, there are a limited number of them, so you have to return them immediately after use. However, some users keep the carts even after they've finished carrying their luggage. I wonder if they don't notice that other people are having trouble. It's a shame.
