In the heart of Nagoya lies Shirotori Garden, a tranquil haven that beckons visitors to experience the essence of traditional Japanese landscaping. This beautiful garden, covering 3.7 hectares, is a testament to meticulous design, featuring elements that reflect the natural landscapes of the Chubu region.

The garden's highlights include streams that symbolize the Kiso River, a hill representing Mount Ontake, and ponds filled with colorful koi fish. Visitors can stroll along winding paths, cross charming wooden bridges, and admire picturesque waterfalls.

Each season brings a new allure: cherry blossoms in spring, lush greenery in summer, vibrant foliage in autumn, and serene snow-covered scenes in winter. The traditional tea house, Seiu-tei, offers an authentic Japanese tea ceremony experience, adding a cultural touch to your visit.

What other travelers are saying about Shirotori Garden

It took us about 20 minutes to go from Atsuta-jingu to Shirotori Garden. The entrance fee was not expensive at all, and there was a lot to explore in the garden. The lake and waterfall were mesmerizing to watch — I felt like I could spend hours here just staring at the fish. The bamboos were also magnificent. Overall, it was a sublime view for those seeking serenity after a long day.

Nice garden with a few different areas. Just a nice place to chill for a while. We even saw a live performance of traditional music!
I don't know how someone posted pics of the garden 17 hours ago, but it's closed for the December holidays. The first picture says it's closed from 29 December (more than 17 hours ago 😑) until 3 Jan, but the next picture shows they're closed until 5 Jan.
