The 'Exploring the Trails of Kamakura' is a historical hiking adventure that delves into the heart of Kamakura's rich cultural heritage, characterized by serene pathways, ancient traditions, and mysterious tales. Highlighted by fox shrines and unique local customs, this journey offers an immersive experience where history, spirituality, and the beauty of nature come together, culminating in sights that evoke awe for the great Buddha.

This tour has no age restrictions; all ages are welcome to join. However, the hiking trail may be difficult for young or older adults.
During the tour, you will have some free time to explore Komachi Dori Street and purchase souvenirs.
In case of rain, the hiking portion of the tour will be replaced with a train ride to see the Great Buddha statue. The rest of the itinerary will remain unchanged.
Please wear suitable hiking clothes and shoes and bring water and towels as the tour involves around 5km of walking and hiking. Other than that, everything else will be provided for you.
No. The tour will be canceled in case of weather warnings or natural disasters, and a full refund will be issued.
You do not need to pay for the guide's food and drinks. All expenses related to the guide are included in the tour cost.

Overall, I’d recommend this trip both for our wonderful time spent with Jim himself as well as the beauty and adventure of Kamakura!

Beautiful walking tour through Kamakura.
The walk to the different shrines and temples was stunning, he even took us on a little hike! He explained the history of each site and taught us how to properly say a prayer at each site. He finished the tour with a walk down the main shopping street in Kamakura and explained the different shops and even bought us some treats. Overall a great day, thank you Jim!

Wonderful adventures in Kamakura with Jim
We got to enjoy the historic sites and the beautiful nature trails in between, couldn’t have had better weather. We also got to enjoy the town and streets of Kamakura itself, some small quiet neighborhoods only to be interrupted with a bustling busy shopping street(s).
