Hiroshima 1-Day Tour: Kure Port City Cruise, Battleships & Submarines

A full-day tour from Hiroshima to the naval port city of Kure, led by a local English-speaking guide. The tour covers a harbor cruise, the Yamato Museum Satellite, the JMSDF Museum and Akishio submarine, and the Irifuneyama Memorial Museum. All admissions and required public transport are included.
Kure is known for JMSDF Curry served on a military food tray, Kure Reimen cold noodles in a spicy, sweet and sour sauce, and miso-braised chicken skin. These are available near the pier during the lunch break.
Lunch is not included. Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes of free time is provided near the Kure pier after the harbor cruise.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In summer, lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and water are advised. In winter, warm and layered clothing is recommended as temperatures can drop to 1 degree Celsius.
If any part of the itinerary cannot proceed as scheduled, the tour operator will arrange a suitable alternative and inform guests as early as possible.
Excellent day if you want to get a closer look at the Japanese JMSDF
Isabelle and Koh were very knowledgeable hosts with excellent English.
Unfortunately when we went, the main Yamato museum was closed for renovations, but we took in many other sights. The port tour around the ships is well worth doing. Be prepared for lots of walking as it is a full day that takes in a lot of the Kure Harbour area.

Excellent day if you want to get a closer look at the Japanese JMSDF
