This one-day bus tour takes visitors to the mythical village of Takachiho, located in northern Miyazaki Prefecture in Japan. The tour includes visits to several shrines related to Japanese mythology, such as the Amanoiwato Shrine and the Takachiho Shrine. Tour-goers can also experience the natural beauty and spiritual energy of Takachiho and the Takachiho Gorge, and see the Amano Yasugawara, a large cave where the gods are said to have gathered and deified when Amaterasu Omikami allegedly hid.
The purpose of this tour is to explore the mythical village of Takachiho, which is steeped in Japanese mythology and features many shrines that enshrine gods related to Japanese mythology.
The tour is conducted by bus, which will provide a comfortable ride throughout the tour. A driver or guide will be waiting for you with your nameboard at your designated location and time.
The tour includes fuel fee, insurance, gratuities, parking fees, and an air-conditioned vehicle. It does not include the canoeing experience fee at Takachiho Gorge, WiFi on board, lunch, dinner, or bottled water.
This tour is not wheelchair accessible, stroller accessible, suitable for pets, or recommended for people with back problems, pregnant travelers, or heart conditions. It is also not recommended for people who have any concerns about their physical health due to it being a long distance tour (about 250 miles) in one day.
We take the safety of our passengers seriously and have implemented measures to protect against COVID-19, including vaccinations for our driver, thorough cleaning and ventilation of our buses, and health checks for our driver.
I recently booked this tour for an upcoming holiday in April 2024, but didn’t realise it was for a group of visitors. We were only a couple. I cannot fault the communication with Hidenori Hikake, the person in charge of the bus company. He was efficient and very pleasant with his responses and gave me some great advice. I was sorry that I didn’t have a group and therefore I had to cancel my booking.
