A lovely tour with Harry.
Starting with an in-depth visit of the office hall (Takayama Jinya), we explored the main highlights of Takayama, including a lovely sake tour in the old town (Sanmachi Suji). Then, we headed to Shirakawa-go via a private shuttle bus. While walking through the village and enjoying a glimpse of the surrounding nature, we have visited the historic farmhouse of the Nagase family. Our tour guide, Harry, proved to be very knowledgeable, genuinely passionate about local and national history, which he shared with us throughout the tour. The driver also deserves a mention, as it was excellent and the travel very smooth. Thanks also to the limited number of people (4), the tour was always interactive and the overall pace balanced, allowing enough free time. All in all, the one-day tour was a great experience. We can only but highly recommend it, and Harry.

From the very beginning, Henry was friendly, organized, and incredibly knowledgeable. He brought each location to life with interesting stories and cultural insights, making the history of Takayama and Shirakawago feel engaging rather than just informational. You can tell he really knows his stuff and genuinely enjoys sharing it.
