What other travelers are saying about Kiryugaoka Amusement Park
Okay place to go for an hour or two. Kids will enjoy themselfs. They don't charge an entrance fee. Instead you buy tickets for the rides. So you don't have to spend alot of money if you don't want to. The rides are very outdated. But look pretty well maintained.
Kiryugaoka is significantly smaller and cheaper, with ¥500 adult admission versus several thousand yen at major parks. It features vintage 1950s-1970s rides rather than modern attractions. Visits require two to three hours instead of full days.
Take the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line or Takasaki Line to Kiryu Station (90 minutes from Tokyo). From there, take a local bus to the park (15 minutes). By car, the drive takes 90-120 minutes via expressways, with on-site parking available.
The park has approximately 20 attractions including a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, miniature train circuit, and various mechanical rides from the 1950s-1970s. A small zoo area features ponies, rabbits, and other animals. An observation deck provides views of Kiryu City and the Kanto Plain.
Most Japanese amusement parks allow outside food, though policies vary. The park has limited food vendors on-site. Visitors should check current policies or plan to purchase snacks and meals from available facilities within the park.
