What other travelers are saying about Kobe Animal Kingdom

I visited to see the capbaras up close and got to do exactly that. The capys have a nice amount of space to roam around and you can even feed them for 100yen. The zoo itself is far larger than I expected on my initial arrival. The ticket entry fee is well priced for the amount of animals you can see. There were quite a few animals which I hadn't seen before too which was nice.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were so many different species to see and the experience overall was just great. The free roaming animals don‘t mind humans at all and sometimes even approach you. I would say this is a must-visit for every animal lover. I love the fact that you can buy salad and carrots and feed the turtles there! There were some animals however, which i think could have been given more room.

While it's true there were at least a few cases of animal pacing (bear, mountain lion but not the tiger, wolf, seal), it's hard to really say if that's due to scarring from past conditions or not, because I dont speak Japanese so I cant ask. Like the Izu zoo, a lot of these animals have a main enclosure that is for the public to get good pictures, and they have a different one they're moved to at different times. Without talking to the staff to find out the full story I feel like a lot of the one star reviews can be discarded entirely. They're pretty much worthless, just amateur zoologists repeating things they read in a Wikipedia article to sound smart. As for everything else, I found the spaces more than adequate, I didnt notice any of the birds tied down, that I saw. For these animals it's just an ideal life of eating and sleeping, and the staff are very kind and active, stopping kids from banging on glass and the like. Food is good, although get the burger over the chicken sandwich. It was a good experience. I've been to a few awful zoos that made me depressed, and this was not one of them. As far as I can tell this is one of the good ones, so I'll give it five stars. If only to help drown out the Karen's rating it one because they think all animals should be free yet go to zoos anyway. Great location too.

I experienced Kobe Animal Kingdom, and it was amazing. I really loved seeing the animals, especially the red panda and the seals 🦭 they are so cute. The zoo was very clean, and the atmosphere was great for both animals and humans. Highly recommended!

Best zoo I have ever been to. Perfect for adventure and fun! There’s a wide variety of animals, and most of the animals are rare and exclusive, though there’s no wait time. The animals are very active and sleep in view most times. Not too busy compared to other zoos, and food is great! The perfect place to go as a family on holiday.
