Lots of interesting plants from all over the world. Be sure to bring some insect repellent, as certain sections tend to have mosquitoes.
One of the most beautiful botanical gardens I’ve ever visited. So many tropical flowers and plants, the collection of orchids was mindblowing, as well as the water plants. The building is impressive, and it’s one of the shooting spots for Alice in Borderland which made the visit all the more interesting for us. Would definitely recommend visiting for anyone staying in Osaka who loves flowers and plants. 🌿🌴
Sakuya Konohana Kan, located in Osaka’s Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, is a stunning botanical garden with over 15,000 plants from around the world. The expansive greenhouse is divided into sections showcasing unique ecosystems, from alpine and arctic plants to tropical jungles and desert flora. The Tropical Aquatic Plant Area, featuring vibrant water lilies and Victoria lilies, is particularly enchanting, and the Succulent Plant House displays fascinating desert species. Each section provides a peaceful and educational experience, perfect for nature enthusiasts and families. A year-round destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of global plant life!
One of my favorite places in Osaka. The entrance fee of 500 yen (I think it was 500?) is such a steal considering how wide the place is and the variety you can see inside. I didn't know it at first, but I walked in thinking it looked like one of the filming locations for Alice in Borderland. Turns out it is! I think from time to time they have some events, there was a cactus festival ongoing when we visited. For the most part, it is well-maintained, though some improvements with the exhibitions would be nice. You shouldn't miss going here when you come to Osaka. Few people when we went there on a rainy weekday.
