What other travelers are saying about Yanaka Cemetery
I think it's beautiful. We don't have this kind of cemetery at home. Spend time walking through and seeing all the different headstones and lanterns, incense holders. Some are very old, some are brand new, all different styles. I like to draw so I picked a spot to sketch.
I don't know the etiquette so I did not take many photos or draw the kanji names.

Tokugawa Yoshinobu Tomb the last shogunate a very simple tomb for such a significant person, his tomb is centre left with his wife centre right next to him. It is gated off but you can still view in side. The century is a good place to walk around and has cherry blossoms during the cherry blossom season.
Lovely autumn walk through the cemetery. Peaceful and learnt some history too. Enjoyed all the backstreets around the area as well. Very close to train station. Very well kept graves.
Fascinating & interesting place to visit.
An easy walk and plenty of shade trees, but very few places to sit.
Watch out for the crows, they are prone to swoop, just like magpies!
Recommend a visit, even if your transiting from one location to the next.
