Who can join the workshop?

This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to participants aged 6 and above. No prior calligraphy or Japanese language experience is required.

How do I choose what to write in the workshop?

During this hands-on workshop, you can practice writing your name, words like “love” or “peace,” or any kanji character that resonates with you. Your instructor will guide you step by step.

What should I wear for the session?

Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting ink on, as this hands-on workshop involves using brushes and ink.

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Yes. Participants must be at least 6 years old.

Can I take my calligraphy work home?

Yes. Your finished calligraphy piece is included and can be taken home as a souvenir.

Are there optional upgrades available?

Yes. You can choose to have your calligraphy written on a special shikishi board or transferred onto a T-shirt for an additional fee. These options are available upon request.

Is the studio accessible for strollers or guests with mobility concerns?

The studio is located on the second floor of a traditional building and is accessed by stairs. It may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns. Please contact us in advance if you require assistance.
