What other travelers are saying about Myogiyama Panorama Park
I stopped by on my way back from my annual visit to Ise Grand Shrine. I also visited Myogi Shrine, and bought some new ones to replace the talismans in my Shinto altar. I was also looking forward to the illuminations, so I waited until 5pm and then enjoyed them until 9pm. I always think the electricity bill must be huge (lol). But I hope they continue to do this.
Autumn from late October through early November offers the best foliage views. Spring in early April brings cherry blossoms. Winter provides the clearest visibility for seeing Mount Fuji, though temperatures are cold. Summer has lush greenery but hazy conditions that limit distant views.
The main observation decks and walking paths require no hiking experience or special equipment. The park is accessible to all fitness levels. More challenging trails on Mount Myogi beyond the park area require proper hiking gear and experience.
Yes, on clear days. Best visibility is late autumn through early spring in early morning. Mount Fuji is 130 kilometers southwest. Summer and cloudy weather reduce visibility.
Restrooms and rest facilities available. No restaurants. Bring your own food or eat in Tomioka City or near Matsuida Station.
Yes. Tomioka Silk Mill, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is 15 kilometers southeast. Myogisan Nakano-dake Shrine, over 1,500 years old, is located on the mountain. The hot spring town of Matsuida is nearby for post-visit relaxation.
Visited on November 23, 2025. When I arrived around 9:00 am, it was cloudy, but the sky cleared up around 10:30 am. The sun was shining directly in the morning, so on a clear day you can enjoy a beautiful view.
I visited during the peak of the autumn foliage, but it was empty. The panoramic view of Mt. Myogi spread out before me, and it was impressive. Meals are available, and binoculars are available at the observation deck. Near the reception desk, you can rent VR goggles that let you experience the feeling of mountain climbing. It was fun. I'd like to come again.
I visited to see the sunrise. It was early in the morning and no one was getting off, but the majestic mountain range towering behind the building was a sight to behold. There was a large free parking lot and a grassy plaza, so it was a great place to see the view. Directly below was Myogi Fureai Plaza Momiji no Yu (where you can apparently also eat). Next time I'd like to relax in the hot springs.
